"Barrios y recuerdos compartidos: de Río Grande a Franklin Heights" exhibirá la extensa historia del distrito de Río Grande y su conexión con el área vecina de Franklin Heights. Esta nueva exposición resaltará el desarrollo de los barrios en el centro de El Paso desde la década de 1910 hasta la de 1930 y abordará temas como la arquitectura, los lugares de culto, la educación, las historias de la clase trabajadora y las olas de gentrificación. También destacará figuras históricas como el Maestro Abraham Chávez Jr., el Juez Burges, el Juez Howe, la familia Lea y la familia Turney.
Esta exhibición es parte de una serie en curso que presenta barrios históricos de El Paso, centrándose en raza, clase y género. Los barrios exhibidos anteriormente incluyen Chihuahuita, Segundo Barrio, Sunset Heights, Manhattan Heights y South Central. “De Río Grande a Franklin Heights” estará en exhibición hasta mayo de 2025.
