JOE COPPINGER JR

Elected in 2020 – Inducted in 2021 El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Brother/Brother Duo Member Joseph Coppinger is the youngest child of Mary and John Coppinger “Joe” continued the family tradition as a 4-year letterman playing first base, third base and pitching for Coronado High School earning All District recognition from 1998 to 2000 Coppinger passed up the opportunity to sign with the Boston Red Sox opting to play at Junior College power Seminole State in Oklahoma He led the squad in wins and strikeouts Joe was drafted in the 7th Round in the 2001 draft by the Baltimore Orioles and played through the 2005 season in their farm system Since 2005, Joe has been Paying it Back and Paying it Forward He has used his gift of learning from the skill set taught by his Dad, a relentless pursuit of excellence preached by his Mom and watching his sister Denice and his brothers Rocky and Paul to share his Blessings with younger baseball players His wife Cynthia and daughter Kylie are the driving spirit and soul of Joe’s continued mission to serve a life with a guiding purpose Joe has used his past experiences with the ups and downs that the game of baseball partners in every player’s journey as a starting point for where he was to where his vision is taking him His passion and focus for the game of baseball is present as a Coach and Mentor Using the power of words, Joe has made “Who are You?” the guiding force for his young players His goal is to “guide players on training and playing the game of baseball and life so they can better represent themselves, their families and their city.”
