Coronel Alexander W. Doniphan

Con el estallido de las hostilidades entre Estados Unidos y México en mayo de 1846, el coronel Alexander Doniphan y sus voluntarios de Missouri derrotaron a los mexicanos en la batalla de Brazito , entró en El Paso del Norte , y ocupó la ciudad de Chihuahua a principios de 1847 .
