Abundante en historia, cultura y arquitectura, la calle ha sido el centro de atención de El Paso a medida que su economía local cambie. Una de las 10 Grandes Calles de APA en Estados Unidos para el 2008, South El Paso Street es notable por su arquitectura histórica, patrimonio bicultural único y activismo comunitario conectado con la protección y el mantenimiento del carácter único de la calle.
