Primer teniente Charles Gatewood Bare ( 5 de Abril 1853-20 de mayo 1896 ) fue un soldado estadounidense nacido en Woodstock , Virginia. Sirvió en el ejército de Estados Unidos en la Caballería sexta después de graduarse de West Point. A su cesión al suroeste de Estados Unidos , Gatewood llevó pelotones de Apache y Navajo exploradores contra renegados durante las guerras de Apache.
