William Haddad Memorial - El Paso, Texas

William Haddad Memorial - El Paso, Texas A wall will be named after William Haddad, a Navy veteran, who worked to raise money for a World War II memorial, 9511 Gateway North, El Paso, Texas. Haddad created a trust to collect $50,000 for the memorial. The efforts to design and build the memorial were passed on to William Craig in January 2006, shortly before Haddad died. Fred Roberts, who completed the project after Craig¹s death, said the memorial wall was paid for with a state grant. He said it rests on property leased by the El Paso Texas Flags Across America. The dedication ceremony will be on the anniversary of the formal signing of Japan¹s surrender, Sept. 2, 1945. Haddad¹s sister, Silma Haddad, and other relatives of Haddad and Craig will unveil the memorial. http://www.elpasotimes.com/news/ci_13238715?source=rss
