Cartas y Biblias el Paso, Tejas

La oleada de la población que se dirigió a california por la fiebre del oro de 1849 llamo la atención de la oficina de coreos de los Estados Unidos. En 1850, un correo a caballo llevaba cartas entre San Antonio y El Paso, y luego hasta Santa Fe. San Diego y las diligencias fueron agregados para 1857. El servicio del ferrocarril sobre las mismas rutas se abrió en 1881, con el correo aéreo haciendo en 1930. El correo seguía siendo la manera menos costosa de corresponder en comparación con el teléfono de larga distancia, hasta la llegada del correo electrónico. Para aquellas familias que profesan una fe cristiana, la Biblia de la familia era un recuerdo. Las Biblias se imprimen tradicionalmente con páginas de registro. Los principales acontecimientos de la vida, como los nacimientos y los matrimonios que se reconocen en los rituales de la iglesia se enumeran allí. Las Biblias no solo proporcionaban comodidad y dirección, sino que también contenían la historia familiar.
