El Bijou se abrió en 1905 como un lugar para el vodevil y otras actuaciones. Estaba situado en el 400 de Oregón, en la esquina de la calle Second. El edificio había albergado anteriormente el Standard Theatre, seguido por el Enterprise Theatre en el mismo lugar.
