El Paso Country Club
The image shows the Clubhouse of the El Paso Country Club in 2014. El Paso Country Club was born in 1906, the vision of eleven men who shared a love of golf and a need for camaraderie. The Club formally opened on June 1, 1906 as a nine-hole golf course. The fairways were what today would be considered "rough" and the greens were made of packed sand. The Club moved to its current location in El Paso's lush Upper Valley in 1922, after a land gift from Mr. Zack T. White. Over the next 106 years the club would grow to include tennis, swimming and fine dining for its membership to enjoy and developed its reputation as one of the finest country clubs in the Southwest with a championship golf course.
