Esta casa pertenece a uno de los más grandes líderes militares John J. Pershing. Él fue colocado aquí en 1914, para ayudar a la frontera de los EEUU durante la revolución mexicana. El intentó capturar a Pancho Villa, pero no pudo hacerlo. Fort Bliss todavía conserva su casa, una calle y una puerta de entrada dedicada a la memoria de John Joseph Pershing.
