Posiblemente este sea Poodle Dog Barber Shop en 318 San Antonio Ave. Alfred Kleyhauer, mi abuelo, era un barbero en El Paso desde los mediados de 1909 hasta junio de 1911 durante cual tiempo trabajo en Poodle Dog Barber Shop. La barbería aparentemente debe su nombre al restaurante Poodle Dog Restaurant al lado en San Antonio 314-16. El restaurante lleva el nombre del famoso Poodle Dog Restaurant (restaurante del perro de caniche) en San Francisco, de acuerdo con un anuncio en ago 11, 1911 El Paso Times. El anuncio afirma que sus comidas son similares a las que se sirven en su 'Frisco del mismo nombre. El restaurante original de caniche perro abrió en San Francisco en 1849 y tenía fama de ser el primero y más famoso de todos los restaurantes franceses de San Francisco. La Barbería de perro caniche estaba al lado del edificio Caples en la esquina de San Antonio y N. Mesa St, donde en el año 1911 en la 5ª planta, Francisco Madero planifico la batalla de Ciudad Juárez. Es muy posible que Francisco Madero fue a Poodle Dog Barber Shop para recibir sus afeitadas diarias. ¡Tal vez mi abuelo fue su barbero! Y tal vez por eso mi abuela, Annie Kleyhauer, se tomo una foto con el presidente Madero el 11 de mayo de 1911, el día después de la Batalla de Juárez. (También puede ver esta imagen en Digie)
