La Fundación de Salud Paso del Norte fue establecida el 30 de septiembre de 1995 con recursos provenientes de la venta del hospital sin fines de lucro Providence Memorial a la empresa Tenet Healthcare Corporation. La Fundación de Salud es una de las más grandes fundaciones privadas de la frontera México-Estados Unidos.
