Raymond L. Telles

Raymond L. Telles (1915-2013) era el primer Mejicano Americano elegido como acalde de la Ciudad de El Paso. Conocido como un pionero en la política de la ciudad, Telles era un amigo y consultivo del Presidente John F. Kennedy y embajador a Costa Rica. Telles devoto su vida al servicio público, sirviendo como empleado del condado de El Paso y ser elegido dos veces como alcalde de la ciudad (1957-1961). El devoto más de treinta años a servicio militar y después de su servicio era un solucionador de problemas y consultivo para el gobierno federal. Telles ha sido reconocido por haber retado las nociones durante los años ‘40 y ‘50 que Mejicano Americanos no podían ser elegidos a las oficinas públicas o ejecutar una ciudad efectivamente. Un símbolo de dignidad, Telles también ha sido reconocido como un líder que le dio una a voz a los Mejicano Americanos en la política de El Paso. Telles revivió más reconocimientos durante su vida incluyendo fue ser reconocido como Acalde Emérito de El Paso. Raymond L Telles fallecio en 2013 a los 97 años.
