Dave's Pawn Shop abrió sus puertas en 1950. Dave's Pawn Shop (casa de empeño) es uno de los lugares más fascinantes de El Paso. Fuera de la tienda, usted será recibido por Elvis y Elwood y Jake Blues. Canciones de época de Presley se oyen del altavoz de la tienda. En las ventanas, hay calaveras, serpientes, maniquíes, relojes y el clásico "Trigger Finger de Pancho Villa" (gatillo de dedo de Pancho Villa) y "Heart of a Vampire Baby" (corazón de un bebé vampiro) accesorios (¡que PARECEN reales!). En el interior, la tienda es un verdadero anticuario y sin duda sería adecuado para una película de Tom Waits. Esqueletos (sí, estos SON reales), relojes, cámaras, equipos musicales de época, parafernalia nazi, animales de peluche y montados, artículos de vudú - hay tanto que ver y tan poco espacio para verlo. El sitio de los cajeros está detrás de una bóveda bancaria de época. Definitivamente hay que visitar Dave's Pawn Shop - es el tipo de lugar que hace tan fascinante el centro de El Paso. Otro dato interesante: Dave's Pawn Shop es la última estructura de fachada delantera falsa existente de El Paso. El edificio comercial de una sola pieza es una simple caja con una fachada decorada de madera y cornisa. El estilo arquitectónico de edificios pequeños, con techo inclinado con frentes falsos creó el núcleo comercial de las nuevas ciudades occidentales durante los mediados del siglo 19.
