William Ralph Weaver
William Ralph Weaver 1905 -1975 Inventor of the Weaver Scope and President of the Weaver Scope Company which was a large production plant here for many years and in its heyday employed hundreds of El Pasoans. Weaver Scopes shipped around the world and are still regarded as the best optics available. Weaver Scope Company also produced sniper scopes for the US military in WWII. Bill Weaver philanthropic generosity was quietly bestowed upon the city he adopted and loved.
