Esta imagen muestra a Gertrude Fitzgerald con dos de sus hijos. Nacio 01 de Abril en 1876 en Fulton, Illinois, y se caso con el ingeniero Benjamin Fitzgerald en 1896. Su trabajo dirigio a la familia a varios lugares en América Latina, especialmente en México. Durante ese tiempo, Gertrude se interesó en fotographía y empeso a tomar fotos de su familia y la gente y lugares donde vivió. Después del comienzo de la revolución en 1910, Gertrude y sus hijos, Nellie y Gerald, se convirtierón en refugiados de la crisis. Finalmente, se fueron de México en 1915 y se movieron e El Paso, Texas, donde la situación de la familia pronto cambió. Benjamin Fitzgerald no pudo encontrar trabajo en la área y se fue a trbajar con su padre en Louisiana. Por problemas de salud, Gertrude se quedo en El Paso. La pareja se separo permanentamente en 1916. Gertrude no encontró mercado para su fotographía pero continuo tomando fotos. En El Paso ella trabajó en negocios minoristas incluyendo 'Popular Dry Goods Company' y 'White House'. Gertrude Fitzgerald murió el 26 de Agosto, 1956 en El Paso, Texas.
