La historia detrás de la foto indica que es una escena en la calle San Antonio en El Paso, Texas en junio de 1881. T.H. Conklin está parado al lado izquierdo de la puerta, entrando a su oficina con su esposa quien esta sentada en la ventana junto a él. Los edificios con estructura interna pudieron haber sido los primeros creados en El Paso. El dueño de la fotografía se dio cuenta que el 1 de junio de 1867, y el 13 de abril de 1907, el mismo edificio de dos pisos seguía de pie.
