Nicholas Lewels-camarógrafo

Nicholas Lewels 1975-2003. Son of Joe Lewels and Hilda Stockmeyer graduated from Coronado High School and earned a degree in film and environmental science from the College of Santa Fe. He owned Lightfoot Productions and was a talented videographer and was passionate about conserving the environment.

Cisneros family-1915

Left to right: Aurora Munoz Cisneros, Refugio (Cuca) Cisneros, Vicente Cisneros Munoz, Vicente Cisneros, Aurora Cisneros. Arrived from Jimenez, Chih. Mexico in 1914. Family fled Jimenez, Mexico because Pancho Villa's men were going to kill Aurora's father, Carlos Munoz, who owned a grocery store and resisted giving away goods to Villa's men. Carlos opened a small grocery store at 625 S. El Paso St. Later, the Cisneros lived at 701 1/2 West Main St. in Sunset Heights.

Francisco Jose (Joe) Lewels Cisneros, Ph.D.

Joe Lewis nació en El Paso el 10 de abril de 1944 a Francisco Jose Lewels Oviedo y Aurora Lewels Muñoz. Se graduó de la preparatoria Burges en 1962 y del colegio Texas Western en 1966. Sirvió como capitán en el ejército estadounidense y como piloto reconocido en la Republica Vietnam del Sur de 1967-1968. Recibió un doctorado en periodismo de la Universidad de Missouri y después fue designado como presidente al departamento de periodismo en UTEP. Se retiro en 2013 después de 31 años como asesor financiero internacional. Es autor de tres libros: “The Good Hypothesis,” "Rulers of the Earth" y "Uses of the Media by the Chicano Movement."
