Mission Valley Visitors Center,9065 Alameda
Built in 1875. The building is Territorial style and is built in Mexican American rural vernacular. This one-story flat-roof adobe masonry was Moritz Lowenstein. According to John Houser, the earliest known record of this property states that it once was owned by Maria Juana Marrujo, who had it surveyed in 1861. On Nov. 17, 1874, the tract was purchased by Isabel Blanchard, In 1876, he established a general store that burned down and stood on the former depot street, a vacant lot. In the 1950s. it was divided into three sections to be used for commercial properties. Several members of the family made use of these additions including Gloria Melis who ran Mellis jewelry store. It is now the headquarters for the El Paso Mission Trail Association.
