Captain Jack Crawford, the Poet Scout
A Civil War veteran, scout with General Crook, actor in Buffalo Bill's Wild West troupe, playright, and poet, Captain Jack visited El Paso in 1892 where he received a McGinty Club welcome. The McGinty Club roster listed him as their official "Poet Liar-ate." He is wearing his G.A.R. uniform in this picture.
