City Hall, El Paso, TX 1899-1959
This picture shows the El Paso City Hall during the Second World War. The banner on top of the building says: "Food will win the war. Don't waste it". Beginning in 1899, El Paso's city government operated within this two-story neoclassical structure. Located at San Antonio and Myrtle Avenues, the El Paso City Hall featured a cruciform plan with a central dome. The building replaced the original city hall, which was located at West Overland Avenue and Santa Fe Street. In 1959, the city hall was demolished and its offices relocated.
