Image Description: A large crowd of people march for the Chicano Movement in downtown El Paso in 1971. They walk behind The Hotel Paso Del Norte. There are a few signs around the surrounding buildings to the left that say, “Als”, “Myrons”, “JC Penny Co” and to the right “Lyns”. A young girl to the far left of the crowd holds a Mexican flag. She is sitting on the shoulders of a young man with a long haircut that stops at his cheeks. She is wearing pants with Venus and Mars gender symbols on them that represent solidarity. A woman below her wears a sun hat with a shirt that says University of Colorado. Two men to the left wear a t shirt that reads “Alviane”.
