Franklin B. Sexton

Franklin Barlow Sexton was born in New Harmony, Indiana on April 29, 1828. Barlow was a Confederate legislator. He served many roles and was elected to the Texas Senate. He moved in with his daughter after his wife’s death. In El Paso, he was appointed a judge on the state Supreme Court. He affiliated with El Paso Lodge # 130 A.F. & A.M. and El Paso Commandery No. 18. More notably, he became the Grand Commander of Knights Templar of Texas in 1870. He died in El Paso, Texas. Most of his books were donated to the Masonic bodies. Image Description: A sepia image shows a portrait of Franklin B. Sexton from his chest up. Sexton wears a dark suit with w light colored shirt underneath and a dark bow tie at the collar of his shirt. He directly faces the camera looking into the lens. Sexton has grey hair with very little on the top of his head, parted at the side and combed sideways. He has no mustache, only a grey beard, that appears neatly kept and covers his sideburns through his jawline and covering his chin.
