CSM Fredrick E. McFarlan, U.S. Army was one of the highest-ranking enlisted men as he was elevated to the rank during the first ever CSM Promotion Board by the U.S. Army. He was chosen to serve as Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army but declined the offer. He is credited for three parachute jumps. Including Sicily and Normandy. He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of El Paso Lodge # 130 A.F. & A.M. In addition, belonged to St. Luke Methodist church. *CSM McFarlan is on the left performing a handshake
