ATF Tom "Threepersons" Cherokee
Tom “Threepersons” Cherokee. Born on July 22, 1889, in the Indian Territory of ‘Vinita’. He was the son of a Cherokee Chief. He would become a well-known lawman and more notably the inventor of the Threepersons holster. He served in the U.S. Army (breaking horses), Patrolman of El Paso Police Department, Federal Prohibition Agent, Internal Revenue Department, Customs Inspector, Deputy of the Sheriff of El Paso County, Rancher, Blacksmith, and Inventor. Tom Threepersons was a member of El Paso Lodge # 130 A.F. & A.M. He spent the rest of his life in New Mexico and passed away in Arizona. He is buried in the Masonic cemetery in Silver City, New Mexico.
