Dedication Calvary Statue
Dedicación de la estatua del calvario
Dedication Calvary Statue
Dedication ceremony of calvary statue by General Brees. A letter from President and mason Franklin D. Roosevelt was read, "it should inspire all that view it with a determination to preserve the heritage which is theirs through the sacrifices of their forebears." The statue was made possible by the will of Percival Henderson, in memory of his friend. It also symbolized the difficulties that the early southwest settlers, and calvary endured. The statue is located in front of the El Paso Scottish Rite and continues to be to this day. El Paso Lodge # 130 A.F. & A.M. is in the background. The temple was constructed by Trost & Trost and was five stories.
