City Scape with Old City Hall - 2012
This photograph from 2012 shows parts of El Paso's city scape with Juárez in the back. The image is crossed by Santa Fe Street. The building on the center left is the old City Hall, characterized by a large glass front. Next to it, on the center left one can see the old Insights Science Museum. Both buildings were torn down in April 2013 to make way for a baseball stadium. The temporarily new location of Insights is the Alamo Elementary School in the Segundo Barrio district. The new City Hall is now located on North Campbell Street. On the other side of Santa Fe Street, at the right edge of the picture, one can see Cleveland Square with the Museum of History. It was opened on this site in 2007. The red building in the front of the picture houses a cigar lounge and a Real Estate firm. The below-ground railroad tracks can be seen on the left.
