Plaza Theater in 1985
This picture of the Plaza Theater was taken in 1985 - one year before it was supposed to be demolished. Luckily, it was saved by fundraising campaigns organized by the El Paso Community Foundation. Since then, it has be remodeled and hosts shows and concerts again. The Plaza has lost some of its original splendor. Furnishings and artwork have been removed, the facade has been altered, and parts of its once-advanced electrical systems are no longer functional, yet the interior structure appears as it has for close to seventy years.
