Lagarto Sculpture with Doves - El Paso, Texas
The photograph shows a part of the fiberglass sculpture by Luis Jimenez which was installed on San Jacinto Plaza. It honors the alligators which lived on the Plaza until 1965. After acts of vandalism they were brought to El Paso Zoo. On this picture one can see that Jimenez re-remodeled the moment when the alligator jumps out of the water. In contrast, the photographer captured two doves sitting on the alligator's mouth.
