First Baptist Church - El Paso, Texas - 1885

This is the First Baptist Church at Magoffin and San Antonio, completed in March of 1885. It cost $6,930.00 to build. The church was organized Aug. 26.1882. We just celebrated our 135 anniversary. 23 charter member along with rev. George Baines helped organize the church and they meet in a home until Texas Baptist Mission Board assisted the group with funding to build a church building. This was the place of worship for 20 years. In 1906, a second structure was erected at Magoffin and Virginia and then in December 1922 FBC moved to our location on Montana.
