Ronald D'Emory Coleman - El Paso, Texas
Ronald D. Coleman, a United States Representative from El Paso was born November 29, 1941. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1963, his J.D from the University of Texas School of Law in 1967 and attended the University of Kent in Canterbury, England in 1981. He was a captain in the United States army from 1967-1969 and then went on to become a teacher for the El Paso public school system. He was a legislative assistant in the Texas house and senate and was admitted to the Texas bar in 1969. He was the assistant county attorney from 1969-1973 and was elected to the Texas house of representatives from 1973-1982. In 1974 he was a delegate at the Texas constitutional convention and in 1974 he was elected as a Democrat to the 98th and the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1983 - January 3, 1989).
