Leading up to The Bath Riots - 1915-1917
Circa 1915-1917. Mexican citizens crossing into El Paso from Juarez underwent inhumane inspections at the hands of U. S Customs. The Bath Riots, January 28-30, lead by 17 year-old Carmelita Torres protested such actions. Gasoline, DDT, and cyanide was used to "cleanse" a race and not the disease itself. Freedom is in the mind and not at the hands of politicians who allowed such actions. Image Description: Line of undressed and nude migrant workers from Juarez being inhumanely inspected by US customs officials dressed in white lab coats at the Disinfection plant in El Paso, Texas. Delousing Stations were erected and chemicals such as kerosene, gasoline, Zyklon B, hydrocyanic acid, pesticides, vinegar and more were used to “disinfect” border crossers, as seen in the photo.
