Alfred Kleyhauer in Juarez Building Damaged During Battle
Many buildings were damaged by gunfire and artillery during the Battle Ciudad Juarez in May 1911. Here my grandfather is standing in the rubble of an unidentified building with two Maderistas. On the day after the Battle of Cuidad Juarez, May 11, 1911, my grandparents Alfred and Annie Kleyhauer and other Americans went from El Paso into Juarez to see the city and Pancho Villa's rebel fighters.
