The image shows Mount Cristo Rey and the UTEP University in front. The limestone statue of Christ on top of the mountain is 42.5 feet tall, including the base. It was constructed by sculptor Urbici Soler in 1939. It is situated in New Mexico. The Southern edge of the mountain is very close to the Mexican border. The University of Texas at El Paso is celebrating its Centennial this year. The school was founded in 1914 as The Texas State School of Mines and Metallurgy.
