UTEP in Front of Mount Cristo Rey
The image shows the University of Texas at El Paso in front of the Mount Cristo Rey. The limestone statue of Christ on top of the mountain is 42.5 feet tall, including the base. It was constructed by sculptor Urbici Soler in 1939. It is situated in New Mexico. The Southern edge of the mountain is very close to the Mexican border. UTEP celebrates its Centennial in 2014, the School started in 1914 as The Texas State School of Mines and Metallurgy.
