Joseph Magoffin
Joseph Magoffin, El Paso mayor and civic leader, was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a four-term mayor of El Paso and a county judge. In 1856 he joined his father at the site of present El Paso, Texas, where the elder Magoffin had settled after the Mexican War. The Magoffins were militant supporters of secession. Outstanding. Iwalk past it everyday!
I went to their home a couple of Sundays ago and I was mesmerized by the history reflected through each room. Not to mentiom the delicate attention to detail on the furniture from back then.
