Solar Aztec Calendar Pavilion
This Aztec Calendar Pavilion is situated at the corners of N. Santa Fe Street and Missouri Street. It is solar-powered and it is a gazebo-type structure with the Aztec calendar, made of Corten steel, light conden sers, crystal prisms and solar panels, as its roof. Built in 2009, City officials hope that the pavilion brings a combination of technology, green energy and art to Downtown El Paso. When the sun hits the Aztec calendar from above, it projects the image onto the ground below.
