V2 Missle, Fort Bliss Museum
On Thursday, May 29, 1947, a German V2 like this one was launched from White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico. It was just a test. Veering, it crashed and exploded 3 ½ miles from downtown Juarez. Though lacking a warhead, the resulting crater was 24 feet deep and 50 feet wide.
