Downtown Ballpark
Since spring 2014 the ballpark is home of El Paso's Triple A baseball team, the Chihuahuas. The stadium is called Southwest University Park. The facility has an official capacity of 9,500. Apart from the normal seats and boxes, visitors can sit on lawn and their children can play in the enclosed waterpark. The design theme of the stadium is based on the Union Depot and incorporates architectural details found in the region's historic buildings, such as the Kress Building in Downtown El Paso. It also pays tribute to the city's baseball history through various forms of art.
