Obama Visits El Paso, Texas - 2011
President Barack Obama visited El Paso in May 2011 for the first time after his election in 2008. He spoke at the Chamizal National Memorial. His speech focused on border security and on immigration reform, focusing on citizenship for illegal immigrants. He also visited one of the busiest ports of entry to the United States for cargo, vehicles and walkers entering from Ciudad Juárez, the El Paso port of entry Bridge of the Americas commercial cargo compound. Obama was a president who broke boundaries.
