A photo of my grandfather, Robert Clifford Crye, proud father of Robert Nelson Crye, ~ January, 1930. The photo was taken by his wife, Helen Crye, in front of the apartments on Wyoming St. in which they lived. In the background is their Ford automobile. Robert met Helen in Prescott AZ, where she was a teacher. They moved to El Paso for the beautiful weather - she was from Minnesota, he from Tennessee. They fell in love with the culture, both became fluent in Spanish; he was a salesman and she taught Spanish at Austin High until she retired.
