Word of Life Ministries, Inc. is a church within the Church of God in Christ International. Founded by Bishop Albert J. Mays, Jr., a retired US Army Sergeant Major, in November 2000, the first location was 9611 McCombs Street. In 2008, a building was purchased to accommodate the growing number of congregants and outreach services. Bishop Mays and the Word of Life Ministries family, desires to expand outreach services through Urban Initiatives with focus areas being Education, Economic Development, Crime Prevention, Family and Financial Literacy,
