The image is taken from Mesa Garden, probably in the 1890s. It shows parts of El Paso, the Rio Grande and Mexico on the other side. The railroad had arrived in El Paso in 1881. Although the city grew daily due to the arrival of businessmen and workers in the area, it was still very small compared to today.
