Ore Diggers, College of Mines
The photograph shows the Ore Diggers, the Men's Cheerleading squad, of the Texas College of Mines in 1928. The University has a long cheerleading tradition, in order to support their teams, e.g. in basketball or football. “Ore Diggers“ and “Muckers“ were considered as school nicknames before “Miners" was chosen.
