San Antonio Street, front of Block 5, in 1881.
The story on the back of this photo says it is a scene on San Antonio Street in El Paso, Texas in June 1881. T.H. Conklin is standing to the left of door entering his office and his wife is sitting in the window by him. The frame buildings may have been the first erected in El Paso. The owner of the photo noted on June 1st, 1897, and on April 13, 1907 that the two story building still stood.
