My grandparents met and married in Smelter town. They were born in the 1890's. Their families stayed in the area but my grandparents moved, along with many others to the ASARCO smelter in Tormey, California. The same environmental issues were at that smelter, causing numerous cancer issues among the families living in the company housing in Tormey.
