This exhibition shares his vision of our region, through more than two-dozen paintings and illustrations created over sixty years. The exhibition explores Castro’s figurative painting, which is characterized by religious and mythological imagery as well as autobiographical elements and personal symbols. It also features materials related to his process and some of the many illustrations he made for El Paso’s longtime department store The Popular and for books, many of which have been about the region and for children, and published locally by Cinco Puntos Press.
