Cathedral High School-Grand-Parents Day 24 February 2011. Highlites Mrs. Blanche I. Martinez, Grand-Mother of Evan Daniel Martinez CHS 1981; Grand-Father is Ernesto D. Martinez CHS 1954; Evan's father Edward D. Martinez, CHS 19XX; Uncle Edmond David Martinez, CHS 1977, along with Evan's maternal Great-Grand-Father Gilbert N. Flores, CHS circa 1932 also, with Evan's maternal Grand-Father, Archie Candelaria and his three sons all graduated from Cathedral High School. Mrs. Martinez speech entitled: Why I'm glad my Grandson is attending Cathedral High School, was received with enthusiasm from the Grand-Parents present at the Grand Parents Day Luncheon given by the school and served by parents and students at the Multi-Purpouse Building at Cathedral High School, 1309 North Stanton, El Paso, Texas 79902.

Cathedral High School-Grand-Parents Day 24 February 2011. Justin Alexander Doreck was selected as the senior class representative to address the gathering of Grand-Parents for this years event. Every year the school honors the Schools grand parent with a luncheon. Justin was very involved in his schools education and athletics programs. Justin, after graduation from high school went on and enrolled at West Point. On May 27, 2017 he was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the United States Army. At the United States Military Academy (USMA at West Point he received a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations.

Cathedral High School-Grand-Parents Day 24 February 2011, Andy Portillo graduated from Cathedral High School in 1955. H went on to Texas Western College (TWC) and soon after went to work at the Army White Sands Missile Range Test Facility in WSMR, New Mexico. Mr. Portillo was inducted in to the WSMR Hall of Fame in 2011. Andy is married to the former Irma Saminiego and she graduated form Loretto Academy here in El Paso, Texas.
