Han scored a sparkling unanimous decision victory Friday night in front of nearly 3,000 adoring fans in the Don Haskins Center. How dominant was she? El Paso's sweetheart did not lose a single round. There was never a doubt in anyone's mind when Han and Gerula stood on each side of referee Robert Velez, waiting for the decision. All three judges scored it 100-89 in the 10-round world championship duel.
And so Jennifer Han is STILL the IBF women's featherweight world champion.

Jennifer Han & Olivia Gerula Title Fight - 2017 - Video
EL PASO, Texas - Jennifer Han defender her IBF world featherweight championship belt for the third time Friday night at the Don Haskins Center after defeating Olivia Gerula by unanimous decision.
Han controlled the fight from start to finish, recording a knockdown in the fifth round against Canada's Gerula.
Han, 33, seemed to be much more agile on her feet than the 37-year-old Gerula in making her title defense. Gerula, a former world champion herself, seemed to be confounded all night by Han's agility and technique, despite declaring before the fight that she would "shake things up" and defeat the favored Han.
Gerula was found to be 1.5 pounds overweight in Thursday's weigh-in, meaning even if she defeated Han, she would not have been eligible to claim her title.
All three of Han's title defense matches have come in El Paso - two at the Haskins Center and one at Southwest University Park. Han also originally claimed her belt with a win at the Haskins Center.

Before Jennifer Han and Olivia Gerula's Title Fight - Mariachi band performed.
Mariachi music is the sound of Mexico. It is the musical accompaniment to the important moments in life. But what exactly is mariachi? A Mariachi band is a Mexican musical group consisting of four or more musicians that wear charro suits. Mariachi is said to have originated in the state of Jalisco, in the city of Cocula, near Guadalajara, as well as surrounding states of western Mexico. Mariachi is now popular throughout Mexico and the Southwest United States, and is considered representative of Mexican music and culture.
