Assistance League of El Paso’s main fundraiser is the Thrift Store at 2728 Yandell Street. Generous donations from the community help provide items to sell in the Thrift Store.
Grants and monetary donations from the community help support the programs of the Assistance League of El Paso.
Assistance League® of El Paso is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to helping those in the immediate community. It was organized as Assistance Guild of El Paso in 1967. On June 9, 1970 the El Paso chapter became the 50th chapter of Assistance League®. The chapter house resides at 2728 Yandell. The 120 ALL volunteer membership has no paid employees and all funds raised and donated are returned back to the community through its’ four philanthropic programs.
PASO (Put A Smile On) BEARS® program provides Teddy Bears to first response agencies, who in return give the bears to traumatized persons to help calm them in an emergency situation.
Assistance League® of El Paso’s major philanthropic program is Operation School Bell®. Operation School Bell provides a weeks’ worth of school clothes for elementary school children in need. Last year almost four thousand children in all nine of El Paso area school districts received clothing.
